The main owner of the business must dislike me tremendously as he once screamed at me in front of his very apologetic staff. No way to treat a person let alone a customer. But I am a firm believer of what a person says reflects on himself!!
I am trying to be objective here and am trying to separate the watch itself from the owner of the company selling it. Not easy but I am trying

Never mind about their dodgy sales tactics
I would be more worried about the history of the watch. It is a lovely watch but for me customer/ after sales is everything. A bad one can ruin the product completely. You may be lucky and find one of these from a private owner.

No accent over the middle E of GENEVE, but the others I looked at are also lacking this. When did Patek start with the accent (like on the 2526)?

but not all vintage watches even with their original dial have an accent over the middle e of Geneve. I discovered this when I bought one from 1943 without the accent too and it was definitely the original dial ...
I must confess
I actually have no idea because I have been told that it was not so much when they started it but they had it on some collections and not others.

Perhaps vintage watches are just not for me as I like my watches to look 'as new' if possible.
