Patek Philippe

One of the things I love about my 5127G is that the patek logo uses a smaller font which reminds looks very simple and vintage to me! I have seen other calatrava models and I can't find any other model that uses the "small" Patek logo. Is it correct that ... 

The smaller logos are actually not unique to 5127. In fact, Patek increased the size of logo in the past several years due to the increase of case/dial size. The older references such as 5115, 5110, 3940, 5053, 5054, 5056, etc. all have smaller logos. Als... 

it seems to me that the 5127 has still the smallest logo among calatravas... and still smaller than any nautilus. Other 37mm or 36mm calatrava in the current collection seems to have a bigger logo..oh well not that important I agree :)

but it is not unique to the 5127. The successor (if there is one, one day) of the 5127 will get a bigger one as well, I guess. Oliver

yes I agree with you - this would probably change too in the next model. It also seems to me that in the 5127 the logo is really more old style- vintage may be just my impression!

You may be right. In my view, the 5127 is the best of all modern calatravas. Perfect size and perfect proportions. Elegant and under the radar. It’s an automatic with date, which makes it very practical. The 5127 is perfect for all occasions, except perha...  

Is my favourite from the entire Calatrava range and is, imo, King of the simple three handed timepieces. :) Patek, made the right decision when they decided to re-launch it

and therefore pretty hard to get (or it was here in Switzerland). I really like it more than any other Patek !

I desperately state that PP logo is getting larger and larger. An example ? The 5205 for instance... The father of a good friend of mine explained me that in the 60's and 70's, it was possible to order a PP watch without any logo on the dial. He personall... 

thanks for pointing this out. Is really big on the 5205 :) I guess thou that this is part of what must the buyer want: to be able to show that it is a patek philippe. For me the small size of the 5127 is just perfect and very discrete. I feel this is an e... 

At close inspection it seems that the logo is slightly different on the 5127: the give away is the "EV" in GENEVE: in the new logo the EV are joined at the top. In the 5127 there is a clear space /no joining at the top and even the PATEK PHILIPPE writing ...  

It also seems the GENEVE has became smaller compared to the PATEK PHILIPPE part of the logo over the recent years. If this trend continues, we'll end up like this pretty soon :-) ...
