I've been there too..
not specifically with a trade like yours, but similar. After many experiences, I learned the hard way that my infatuation with a watch I wanted would overwhelm all good judgement just because I wanted something new or different, and I rationalized myself into either trading or selling a piece to get another, only to find myself in the same position again...and again...and again. I have lost enough along the way to have bought one or two more.
If this sounds somewhat familiar, I hope my experience may shed some light on this deal for you.
Personally, I prefer the 5146 to the 5712 and I would wear it more than just to work.
