Patek Philippe

Hope to get my 5131G this autumn

Hello,

there are only very ,very few delivered to some exclusive dealers,so it will be very hard to get hold of one.

I immedately fell in love with the white gold version, but it was a long way to get one!

There are two possibilities:

1-either You are the top customer of one of the top PP dealers in Your country, who will offer You the one piece he gets-in case he gets one,

2-or You order one.To be able to do this You should know a major PP dealer, because most ADs are not supplied with these rare pieces(I asked five who told me: "not the slightest chance") and if he accepts Your order because he knows You or likes You,whatever, the AD has to send an application form with Your PP-record(detailled list of all PP watches You already own) and a personal statement to the Geneva headquarters.According to an official statement PP sent to me because of the high demand only real PP collectors are set on the waiting list.(also perhaps to prevent grey-market dealers to get hold of those pieces too easily).Waiting time can be up to five years however, depending where You are on the waiting list.

So,although You need not fly to Geneva and have an interview with Mr Stern himself(as for e.g. the Sky moon)You hardly can get one easily.

Therefore I really was very pleased when I finally gor a call from the AD that Patek accepted my application and my watch should be delivered in October(presumably).

AFAIK the white gold version does not replace the yellow gold one,if a RG or PT version will follow next two years,I don't know but I'd say it's not impossible.

If Patek keeps production numbers thus low, demand will stay very high, also perhaps of the rather insecure economic environment, when investments in rare watches with high resale value might seem no bad option for some people in times of inflation-fear.

cheers,

Lutz
