Patek Philippe 5230G Mexico.

 By: amanico : July 11th, 2020-01:05
One 5230G I recently discovered, the Mexico 5230G. 40 pieces, launched in 2019. The differences? The inner 24 Hours Ring, with dedicated colors, and " Mexico " in Red, on the Cities Ring. And the wording on the case back... Photo Credit upon request as I ...

A must have if you are a fan of Patek WTs and from Mexico?

Otherwise, the differences seem small, although the red half of the 24 hours ring does add a bit of color. Glad that they didn't obscure the movement by printing text on the sapphire glass case back.

I have always thought they should do that.

I love the watches, but having my home town on it would be great. Also, even though a purist would not like this, the option to update the city ring if countries change there time zone. Once the ring does not represent the true time, itโ€™s no longer functi...

Interesting.

I had not noticed this detail before. Thanks for pointing out.

Pleasure. [nt]

I like this iteration, itโ€™s ref. 5230G-022 announced last year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Patekโ€™s relationship with its distributor in Mexico City, where there are three ADs.

 By: FabR : July 11th, 2020-02:06
However, there have been, over time, many special WT editions dedicated to particular cities or countries, so aside for its interesting dial, frankly I donโ€™t think itโ€™s a piece with a special collectible value...Either you have a personal connection to th...

Just noticed something. The first three pictures show Sao Paulo as UTC-2, although it is UTC-3 like Buenos Aires (which is also included).

 By: countzero : July 11th, 2020-02:15
The last dial shot however has Sao Paulo replaced by S.Georgia, so the error is corrected. A further difference between the dial versions is that some city names have been abbreviated in the 'corrected' one. I imagine this must have been discussed before....

Hehehe... [nt]

Welcome to WPS, and thanks a lot for another nice example! Do you have any wristshots of this model?

 By: FabR : July 11th, 2020-11:04
This is perhaps a less known LE, done last year on the occasion of Bauer's 125th anniversary. Bauer is of course a well-known jeweler in South America, and the owner of the only Patek ADs in Colombia (two, both in Bogota). I believe only 10 pieces were ma...

Wempe Paris recently lost its license, so the (Patek-owned) Salon is really the only possibility in all of France.

 By: FabR : July 12th, 2020-13:31
Obviously there must be a good reason for this unusual choice โ€” if Patek ever decides to, they could open as many ADs as they please. As you were saying earlier, perhaps historically France has been more focused on other brands? Somehow, numbers must indi...

Wow, even worse than I thought. Did not even know about Wempe losing their license...

And I also agree that a boutique or AD in the Cรดte d'Azur (Cannes or Nice) or Monaco would be amazing, especially for me since Cannes would be 15 - 20 mins from my golf club ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜‰

Dont worry in a year you can travel by Eurostar
