Hi All, this is my belated second and last post about the Singapore Grand Exhibition in which I learned some important and interesting information from ...

Ms Anita Porchet, the best enameler artist in the horological world today, gave me some interesting information.

My original post on the exhibition www.watchprosite.com /

She and her team made 5131G and 5131P !  No wonder I have always rated 5131G's dial as the best four because of excellent color gradations and most number of colors.

Although I have closely examined my quadruplets ( www.watchprosite.com ), I have NEVER realized how small each enamel portion is !!  Only when I picked up an example at the Exhibition, I was shocked as to how tiny the "canvas" is for the enameler to make the cloisonnΓ© map on !  It is small like a Singapore 10 cents coin (19.4mm diameter) or slightly larger than an American dime (18mm diameter).  The amount of details on such a small area is simply amazing !

They are also responsible for the 5531 !!  This reference is a grail for me because of her involvement in addition to other technical reasons.  If you were sitting on the fence on this piece, would Ms. Porchet's involvement tip you over ??

From my Patek source in Singapore, the huge decoration at front entrance is an art piece that is hand hung and involved 10,500 separate pieces !!  Patek really went all out for this Grand Exhibition.

Hope you find the above information interesting.

Cheers,

Gordon

Thanks my friend, your typically interesting and informative post on my most favorite watches (within my most favorite brand), so I could have hardly asked for more! :-)

I also have a 5131P, as you know, so glad to know Ms. Porchet and her team were directly involved in the production. You're also implying that she was *not* involved in the realization of the 5131J and R, if I understand correctly? That'd be surprising bu...

involved in making the 5131G &P and 5531. She did not say J and R. Hence, I would think not for J and R. So now 5531 is in the works for you my friend ??

If nothing again arrives in 2020 of the 5089/5077/etc. series, then I'm seriously going to consider the 5531...A two-year abstinence would be unbearable my friend..;-))

The G is a glorious piece and the one I hoped to get before the wait become longer than the production cycle. πŸ˜‰

No, back in 2008 I put my name down for the 5131G

I have just read it. It is great to get an insight from a collector who owns 5131 in all 4 metals. On my previous post what I meant was whether your 5131R was 5131R-011 as opposed to a 5131R-001 or 5131R-010.

Russell your photo looks very familiar.

I just noted wikipedia is using your photo on their Patek page.

I am a Wikipedian so yes it is my photo of my piece being used.

I understand your piece is 5131R-001 and your friend's piece is 5131R-010. I haven't seen many 5131Rs with Brisbane on the city ring.

Brisbane was only for the 010 model

 By: russell996 : December 22nd, 2019-02:30
3 year production, 1 year each for 001, 010 and 011.
