Four years ago to the month………….
I suffered the exact same issue with my brand new 5205G
Everything changed apart from the month.
For once I didn't panic, but instead sat down with the watch and went through several circuits of the month by using the pusher to move on the month.
Then, when I was happy that everything was as it should be and this bit, will take time. i set the calendar up to read approx ½ through November and then I slowly wound the hands around until I got to the 30th November, then feeling a bit of trepidation, I would the watch past midnight and into the 1st December and hey presto all changed beautifully. And just for luck, I repeated the exercise and again all worked perfectly. It was a bit time consuming but it was worth it in the end. And I never suffered the same issue again.
On speaking with my AD, it was possible that a minute drop of oil had stopped the movement from working correctly, but with my intense work, this had been free and broken up.
I am not saying that this may cure your problem, though I hopeit does.
But it has to be worth a go
By the way, I take it that the movement was fully wound up?
