Feedback from a PP 5053 owner
I think you have narrowed down your choice enough that the personal preference and "on wrist" experience are likely to be the most important factor. Without knowing more about your collection I would recommend you select the one that is likely to be receiving the most wear. The 5053 I have found to be a good all-around watch that is comfortable with both jeans as well as more formal occasions. Consequently I wear it much more often than my "dress" watches. If that is important to you then it might be the right choice. For me the 5053 has a few advantages - a) flexibility of looking good in formal and "jeans" environment, b) relatively rare - it's unlikely you will find someone else with the same watch (or style for that matter) which adds a fun factor, c) the officer style and case back provides some novelty, d) I'm a sucker for Breguet numerals and hands, especially on non-Breguet watches. All of that said, it was the 5127 that was my second choice some years back when I made the decision to go with the 5053; in the end I went for it based on the factors above and have been very happy since.
