Very helpfully, you should pick the one you prefer. Baroque or Bauhaus (okay, not quite exactly, but you get the picture)? When do you want to use it?

I had the choice between the two (plus others) and chose the 5053 because I quite like the Breguet numerals and hands (I think they ought to be together - Breguet hands on Roman numerals as we sometimes see always struck me as incongruent for some reason; probably just custom...) and thought they combined perfectly with the eggshell dial and old world richness of the rose gold "officers' case" with its screwed lugs. I don't mind the date at six, since it gives some weight and interest to the lower half of the dial to balance out the text under 12. The 5127 is very nice as well, and dresses down a lot better than the 5053, which I think is a very formal watch by today's standards. If I had the spare cash, I'd get the 5127 as my daily office wearer without hesitation...
