Enamelling is unfortunately a dying art
but Anita Porchet is an artist beyond compare. To enamel so intricately on such a small space is mind boggling. Some will say Suzanne Rohr was the greatest of all time but I will put Anita up there with her. It is just a pity that only the very wealthy and very fortunate will be able to afford these masterpieces. They are basically art on a watch where the watch and its movement become secondary to the enameled dial.
Thanks Gordon for sharing. I know you are a massive fan of enamel pieces particularly those by Anita Porchet. I had an opportunity to visit the Rare Handicrafts exhibition at the Patek boutique in Geneva in April and the watches on display were on a different level to what we are accustomed to. The fact that they were priced way out of the reach of most of us makes us forget that as works of art, these watches were actually priced pretty reasonably!
