If you don't actually love a nearly 6-figure watch, and you're only buying it because it may someday be an "investment," there are literally dozens of safer and more certain vehicles for stashing your cash. Only buy luxuries that you love and plan to use, otherwise, why bother? Normally, I'd say that watches are more fun (if less fruitful) than bonds, cash, and securities, but an unloved watch necessarily confined to a safe to protect "value" doesn't even have entertainment value. And if you DO wear it, then you'll lose out to the inevitable (and sadly deprived) people who *have* stashed their watches in safes.
Best,
Tim
