Depends, but personally, I would go for the 5140P...
I ask this question to myself often. Would I go for a 5960P or a 5140P?
How are you going to wear the watch? Is this a watch for the office (5140)? Or is this a watch for social meetings (5960)? Are you wearing a suit (5140) or jeans (5960)?
I think the 5960P is a much "cooler" (I don't use this term often) timepiece than the 5140P. Chronographs are always very much appreciated among men and the 5960P is no exception.
That being said, I think the 5140P is definitely the long-term watch to own. This is a perpetual calendar that is part of the grand complication collection. This timepiece goes through double assembly by one master craftsman at the Grand Complication workshops at Patek Philippe. It is also one of the thinnest perpetual calendars and arguably one of the finest perpetual calendars on the market. The watch also features the 240 caliber, one of my favorite calibers (I just had to mention this) because it has the best of both worlds, being an automatic but still allowing you to view all the wonders of the very good movement finishing.
I really like the 5960, it's young, it's unique, it's definitely the watch for you if you're upbeat and young at heart. Both are completely different animals and I think that you can't go wrong with either choice.

growing old with the 5140P especially the one with the blue dial. It's a classic in design, style, size etc. It's also a grand complication as Patrick said, with a tried and tested movement in the cal.240(I also like the micro rotor). The 5960 is very conte...

Both are excellent pieces. The 5960P is an annual chrono whilst the 5140P is just a perpetual calender. Both are different. I have the 3940R (predecessor of 5140) and the 5960P and I alternate them.and even the 5059. They look very different also. The 596...

I own the 5960P with original dial. It's a gorgeous multi-purpose watch. My choice felt on 5960P after also considering 5140G and 5159G (both perpetual). It really depend on your own personal preference. Good luck with your choice. Either way, you'll make...
