IMO the 5970 is an
iconic PCC ! Love its leminia movement. Comparatively speaking, if 5970 goes for the same price as 5740, you are getting the chronograph as an extra complication. Best of luck with your decision and please remember to share wrist shots !
The 5970r is by far my favourite standard 5970.
Its vintage feel appeals to me more than any other. It’s a masterpiece. M.

5740s and even the new 5270s do not have a function to advance the calendar indications all together - both requires the date to be set to the 1st when performing any corrections.. which is really troublesome
