Patek Philippe

Dear friends, I would like to ask your valuable opinions on the two watches that are currently on my short list: Patek Nautilus 5990 (Brand New) and Lange Datograph First Generation (Second Hand). I understand they both are very different in terms of size... 

Why? Because I consider the Datograph as a master piece. And I don't think the same about the 5990. Too thick and too complicated for the "spirit" of the Nautilus... Just my point of view. Then, it also depends about what you want to do with these watches... 

Perfect pair to own, if you have these two you have every need covered! If you have to choose one, all depends on your lifestyle needs and if you already have any other watches you like to wear. Hard to place any recommendation without any further informa...

as both watches are very interesting. They are very attractive and appeal for different reasons. As both choices are very different, I would say that you haven't chose already what you really want. You must think about when you'll wear them: what appeals ... 

You really need to try them on to decide which sings to you.. But it maybe be helpful if I shared with you what I don't like about each Datograph - too thick - quite easily available since it was produced for nearly 15yrs 5990 - too thick - The chrono but... 

I think I cannot make a decision mainly because I love both the Nautilus line and Datograph. It seems like both Lange and Patel fans favour Datograph more than the 5990. My Only hesitation on Datograph is this purchase will be a major one for me so I need... 

.....relative to how much you will enjoy wearing a watch. I think that is crucial.

I enjoy watches. I always find reasons or excuses to justify the cost . I just find it getting harder when the watch is gonna cost me an arm or leg....

you may have to consider will you be happy with just one arm and one leg??!! Buy what you love but try not to get caught in a situation where you may have over committed yourself. I speak from experience as I am nuts about watches with minimal funds.

I am forcing myself to wear my 5130, whereas a 5110R which would have cost less would have been better value, in a cost-per-wear ratio.
