But if you want or need to import them from France or Germany to Switzerland for instance, it’s not the same story.
To give you an example, when I moved from France to Switzerland, I was supposed to declare to customs all my watches (and everything) and pay Swiss VAT + customs fees. Of course, I did not because I know where I could cross the Swiss/French border to avoid controls.
But when you take the train or a plane, you can’t avoid customs and, potentially, controls. If you have two or maybe maximum three watches with you that could be ok but if it’s a briefcase full of watches you can have problems.
