As usual, all depends !
Welcome on the forum.
1st decision:
Both Nautiluses are very different and it is hard to tell without knowing you.
I own a 5712 and my choice was leaded by the thinness and thus, it elegance.
But I like the 5980 white dial quite much too. But in a very different way as it is much bigger.
I don't really like the 5980's blue dial because of the subdial color integrated in the blue dial. The white dial feels much lighter to me, but that's personnal.
Maybe the blue holds better value but I think giving to much importance to this criteria is not a way to be sur to choose the watch taht will please you in the long term.
2nd decision:
Difficult to say as I'm not an Aquanaut fan but the travel time complication has been cleverly designed and makes it a great watch.
As usual, all depends !

not knowing anything about you besides the fact that you own a 5146…. below are my 4c: 1) 5712A & 5167A; winner combo, but have to admit I am quite biased since I happen to own these. You can not go wrong with these 2, especially not as a complement t...

I have seen other white dial Nautilaus models (5711A and 5726A), but have not seen the 5980A white dial in person. In looking at photos, the contrast appears a bit off comapred to the blue dial 5980A. However it is a relatively inexpensive way to obtain a...
