I love my 5146P and wear it everyday, including summers when it gets hot and muggy. However, the sweat on my wrist quickly transforms the strap lining into a biological weapon, causing skin irritation. Of course I wipe the lining with antibacterial wipes ... 

which may take care of your problem.

Rubber lining actually makes the problem worse because it traps sweat longer on your skin. I had terrible experience with custom made rubber lined straps. Leather at least have some porosity thus allow some evaporation. Thanks for the suggestion though. J... 

Leather pretty much behave the same way.... I do not think that you can do much about it.... Maybe wear your watch a bit looser? Cheers

I got an alligator J. Rousseau strap which was custom fitted, using their own steel buckle.; my watch is a 5960P model. The strap sort of sits in an oval, touching my wrist at the sides, leaving lots of space for air below the watch and below the buckle. ...
