I love my 5146P and wear it everyday, including summers when it gets hot and muggy. However, the sweat on my wrist quickly transforms the strap lining into a biological weapon, causing skin irritation. Of course I wipe the lining with antibacterial wipes daily but without much success, due to the porosity of the lining material. Besides Patek, I tried other reputable alligator straps that are claimed to be "water proof" or "moisture resistant", with no luck as well. I also do not like to wear metal bracelets, so that is out of question. Considered Patek's rubber strap, but that will be my last option.
Will appreciate hearing from fellow forum members any suggestions for alligator straps with sweat-proof lining that will not promote skin rash. There are few "aero-lined" straps out there. However, I have not had any experience with them.
Thanks
Jim
Rubber lining actually makes the problem worse because it traps sweat longer on your skin. I had terrible experience with custom made rubber lined straps. Leather at least have some porosity thus allow some evaporation. Thanks for the suggestion though. Jim
