If this really is your grail watch and you have the funds, then I would go for it. I wouldn't care about eliminating my watch fund for a few years if this is that ultimate watch. Granted in reality hot new watches can catch our eyes on a moments notice and having a depleted watch find would hamper getting that new watch.

I believe you should rethink your decision.
If you really want it, find a way to make it happen!! The opportunity is in front of you now!!! It's not going to wait for you! Five years is nothing and you'd probably blow the money on something else anyway. Just do it.

It's easy for us to say "yeah - just do it" but it isn't our life savings we're vicariously spending. Once the austerity pain really hits Europe it will take China along with it. The grails will suddenly reappear as the Shanghai and Pairs boutiques remain...
