5172 This watch really got to me!

I liked but never loved the 5170 and out of all the references the G with black dial would have been my choice. The 5172 presents a different proposition entirely...









I wasn’t particularly thinking about this watch and asked to see it as an afterthought. But when I did, oh boy it was good!

The lugs: subtle Art Deco, the case: I can’t describe how it abuts the lugs but his real impact, the pump pushers are beautiful and classic, the box crystal and narrow bezel give greater visual impact, the dial: beautiful and balanced with the perfect choice of numerals and syringe hands- lined for added functionality. Finally, the blue strap is so soft and supple.

For anyone who thinks the increase in case size size is an issue, I compared it against a 5170 and didn’t notice.

Overall, this reference really appealed to me. I do wonder if it will be as popular as a 5070 in time or less so like the 5170. Time will tell.

I’ve been thinking that this one could be my forever watch... Thanks for reading.
