5170P Vs. 3970G
Good am Purists,
I was sniffing around for 3970s lately but I started looking at the 5170P and the dial looks amazing. I’m more of a 5070 Lemania fan historically. I know there a million pros and cons for both of these references but I was curious if anyone has an opinion or preference?

I agree completely on the 3970. I find that I can make a checklist on a piece and it may check every box but at the end of the day it has to have some magic!

Good afternoon, Thank you for the responses on this. I found a mint 3970G with a black stick dial and I'm happy to report that I bought it! It should be another week before I pick it up so I'll save my impressions for then. Best regards
