For me 5970 hands down. However, from that zoomed in angle the lugs look like they overhang your wrist? If not that is the one.

And for a lot of wrists it will wear better. But two very different beasts. The right answer is “that’s your two watch collection” ! Choose wisely.

5970 is ooooozing with Patek DNA and is what Patek Philippe and all their history is all about. The Nautilus was designed by a third party and is not what Patek do best. Obviously if you can own both but IMO if it can be only one then feeling like you own... 

Very different watches in that 5970 has chrono function and is dressy, whereas 5740 is thin and “sporty”. Are you getting 5740 at retail price ? If not, based on secondary prices, is price vs value a consideration for you ?

Glau, 5740 is used but in very good condition. Both prices are almost the same so price wont play a factor… both are offered at the same price!

5740 is way more expensive… Agree that the 5970 is way more Patek… Crazy times!

5970 is getting more appreciated lately... i hope we dont move from one hype to another!

Isn’t the 29-535 considered technically superior to the 27-70? Or do you mean the finishing? I haven’t had a chance to compare them side by side, but both looks attractive and I imagine the split second module can only add to the sexiness

Collectors inform me that they like the lemania movement in terms of rarity. Your thoughts on their thinking 🤔 ?

27-70 was used in quite a few references ie 5070, 3970, 5970 + 5004, anyways, it’s a lovely movement with inward angles (but the 29-535 also looks nice despite not having any inward angles).. but one big plus of the 27-70 is that the calendar indications ...

I love them both . Dream watches. But 2 totally different watches. I would take the 5970 P in black face . My favorite. As for the 5740 naughty I’d give my pinky finger
