I was comparing the level of brushed finish of two nautiluses and noticed the more pronounced brushed finish on the white gold model. Do you guys think it is a good idea, if the Service center can do it, to do a more obvious brushed finish on the 5711? I ...

But because life is not predictable, I would not destroy the resale value of a relatively expensive watch. As simple as that. Best, Kari

As it looks now , you have a wonderful Nautilus. :-)

Just wear and enjoy your watch. Cheers.

I would definitely not get it refurbished by Patek or anyone else. It is a huge risk.

We know you've been through a hard one with what happened to your Aquanaut, repeatedly, but I don't think it is right to say that "it is a huge risk and that it will come back worse and damaged". I think it is not true. I know it was frustrating for you. ...

Soft brushing is The feature

With polished surfaces. I don't like heavy brushing, it's the for RO. When I find that level of case finishing I assume the watch has been serviced by a cobbler, not by a watchmaker

It is a question of taste and style

The balance between the look of the brushed surfaces and how the rest of the watch is decorated is an important element to consider. For instance, I think the style of a RO will accept more pronounced brushed surfaces whereas the Nautilus will prefer a th...

The 5711 in as icon and perfect as it is, I would strongly discourage any modifications. How can you change such a perfect watch! ...

Never refinish --even with the manufacture--unless absolutely necessary. My thought....

Never mess with the original IMHO.

You know with certainty what it looks like right now. And it looks pretty good. Almost perfect. Any work at this point could make it that little bit better, or a whole lot worse.

Does the lighting have to do with the way it looks for example here is my 5980
