Patek Philippe

Hello, I own 4 x Patek Philippe watches that are 37mm in diameter. The strangest thing is that they feel so different. Let me explain. My 5110 WorldTime feels absolutely perfect albeit a wee bit small. It uses a 20mm strap tapering down to 14mm. My 5035 A...  

The lugs are important and also the dial and the size of the bezel. You have noticed that the 5035 seems small and that is because it has a busier dial than say the 5296 which is a 3 handed watch. There is no right size or wrong size for a dress watch bec...  

I do agree with most of what you say...... However to suggest a 35mm 5120 can wear larger than a 5035 or 5110 is pushing the truth a wee bit....... don't ever forget physics !!!! It might wear like a 36mm but 37mm is punching a little above its weight....... 

not only because the former is 3mm smaller but the 5119 has a sapphire crystal case back to show off its movement and also the 5119 is a newer model of course. I still think a 5120 with its spartan white dial will wear larger than a 5035 with its busy dia...

If you are 150kg 37mm will look out of proportion.. look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, 60mm Panerai looks great on him. IMHO I think 37 is just too small on your wrist. You need a 40+

Good proportions is more important than size alone. The 5035 being relatively thick in proportions to its diameter will feel small; the 3970 and 5059 suffers from the same effect. The 5296 with the flat bezel and overall being flat will feel larger than i... 

how the same size can wear big or small depending on the case, lugs and dial. 2mm is nothing on a ruler but on a watch it is huge. I would think the world time with the 20/14 strap may wear a little top heavy. 16mm at the buckle is perhaps a better on the... 

it is not too small, in fact, it is right size for a dress watch.

Wow. You are full of questions. I hope they get answered. If I had you collection I would keep the 5110J and a Calatrava. Sell the other pieces and purchase a nice complication like a 5140J or 5960. Cheers

They all sit well on my wrist. I’m fairly tall with narrow wrists so when I wear a 43mm casually it doesn’t look strange. I always preferred 40 mm timepieces, but when I tried 36-39mm I felt they work better with formal wear.

There is something about its size and proportions. You should never sell it, unless to me ;-) That said, I think it's the 5127R I'm really after. Though I love stainless steel watches, a 5127R or J would be great to pair with two rings I rarely wear. I lo...

I think 37mm is very good for a dress watch. I think dress watches in general look good when they show some leather strap on each side of the wrist. Also they tend to be slimmer which aids in their proportionality. In general, I think a large wrist can pu... 

However I usually wear 40-42 mm watches in every other situation.
