I basically use my 5167 as a daily wearer. Although I wish it would come back from its regular service (it's been in Stern's care since late January). It has indeed been scratched in my usage and I declined to have the scratches polished out as part of the service.
I also agree with your point that some of us for whatever reasons simply prefer or need watches other than dress watches. I am certainly not denying the exquisite beauty of the dress watches, but simply my current lifestyle does not lend itself to dress watches. I am very pleased that I have not been denied the quality and tradition of Patek because I have little need for a dress watch.
