Grand Complications of 5040s and 5041G

Jul 24, 2019,00:11 AM

I must say these 2 References are quite similar with subtle differences that, for me, I have to look more than twice to distinguish them.

5040P, apparently only about 30 pieces made, sports Arabic numerals unlike 5040WG, 5040J and 5040R which has Breguet numerals.  35 mm Tonneau shaped case is a good size with bombe bezel.

But I’m quite surprised to learn that 5041G is even more rare, around 250 pieces made (according to auction house sources)! I believe it has thicker but flat bezel with smaller crown? Outer minutes ring is dotted as supposed to 5040 railroad track.

Do you PuristS know whether the 5041G is in fact more rare than 5040P ?  What are your thoughts on these two references?

is there a 5040G with Breguet numbers?

5041G should be way rarer than 5040P
