Different

I have seen it in the metal, and while Patek SS is always of interest, it is not to my taste. Especially the bracelet - it is a major statement. It’s a polarizing reference - either you love it or you find it a puzzling direction for Patek - it’s gained momentum on this site, but I see plenty of them available in Patek AD’s.
Will be interesting to see how this reference fares as the years go by.

Four weeks on the wrist

After long thinking about which version of the 5960 I should add to my collection I made my choice for a steel version. Initially, I was planning to see the black and white dial versions side by side at my AD, but the black has not yet been delivered in G...

My pleasure

a Seiko, we would think this was one ugly watch. By the way, the "O" of October is hard to see for 100%.

You clearly have not seen this one in the flesh

At least not in natural lighting. If it was a Seiko at Seiko prices I´d buy the whole production lot in a heartbeat

well....

.....i think we all have different tastes The 5960 has never been a watch that I have been drawn to, but at the same time there are so many on this forum who truly love it. People have different tastes ..... and what works for one, doesn't work for anothe...

I have read a lot of comments like the one from Seamaster 2254 when the steel version was intoduced in 2014.

Many people didn´t like it at all. I remember that I was still very much in favour of the P versions at that time and could not reall apprecciate the white dial at all. It took me some years of looking and handling of the watch to learn that this new mode...

My story is very similar

I hunted the P and did not think for a split second about the A. Took me two years to come around. Sometimes still think about the P though ...

Yup, Gary, I understand your point.

This model is kind of a new direction for PP and we have to wait some more years to see how the audience will judge on it on the long run. I am very surprised seeing all these steel 5960 here on the forum recently. What might be the reason for that?

Your Patek 5960 looks fantastic on you.

That's the biggest problem with 5960/1A

It's really a watch for everyday use. Best, Kari

It surely did, Kari. 👍

Interesting to read more users starting to accept the bracelet. I am a fan myself but like to switch every once in a while for change. A big plus to have this option in a watch I think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and pics with us!

I can fully understand why this watch would get a lot of your wrist time.

Because it spends a disproportionate amount of time on my wrist too! Really glad to see the 5960/1A finally getting the attention it deserves. I very much prefer it on a strap though.... ...

That's an awesome AC Chrono automatic!

If there are two models of Patek that I'll be interested to add, it will be the World Time and a chrono - a toss up between 5960 and the 5170. What's going in favor of the 5960 at the moment is it's an automatic. And in bracelet mode, one can readily chan...
