Dicontinuation of 3970?
I would be interested in what other members of this forum think/know about the possible continuation/discontinuation of ref 3970.
I was told by several dealers (including an official PP dealer in Switzerland) that 3970 will be replaced by 5970 (i.e. the larger size chronograph introduced in Basel).
However, some sources seem still not sure about the discontinuation of 3970. A German dealer told me that he believes that both models will be offered in parallel.
Personally, I would expect 5970 to replace 3970 as the resources required to produce the 27-70 base caliber are rather limited, both, at Lemania and PP: I cannot believe that fragmented sales (split on 3970 and 5970) are a desirable objective for PP. Also, there would be no recent precedents in the segment of complicated PP watches. I.e. with the introduction of a new case the former reference was always discontinued and replaced by the new version.
