I since learned by a watchmaker that the gradual changeover is much more power efficient, the cost of a snap from an energy standpoint is higher. But solving such problems is of course not out of the question.

First Patek 5236P and from my local AD (was not looking for a Nautilus)

First post here so apologies if I get the format wrong. I've been eyeing this grand complication since it was announced and didn't expect to be able to get my hands on one. But seems they're available on secondary market at the old retail price. I don't f...

No instantaneous date change on this watch?

That’s surprising to me. But a beautiful watch nonetheless. Congratulations on acquiring it. Looks great on you!

Surprises me too…

…a friend has one and I’ve tried it on. A bit top-heavy but a lovely dial and a very unusual display method.

This was your first piece from the AD? Is this one also usually impossible to obtain without a history?

I think in part it was a controversial design for some. Personally, I like an in line calendar. Super surprised about the date though. Maybe that put off some of the QP guys out there. I know they all love to sit around on Feb 29th at midnight looking at ...

Congratulations!

This is my favorite of the current Patek line and the one I'd most like to own. Short of something crazy like a 5275P or a 5016 of any stripe, the 5236 embodies so much of what I love about the company. I'm not surprised by the dragging calendar turnover,...

Thanks for sharing my happiness and excitement. I'm savoring. I spoke to a watchmaker today of the dealer that sold the watch and he explained that the instantaneous perpetual functionality cost a lot of "energy" so to speak, so it is more energy efficien...

The layout of your PC dial is distinct and recognizable, making it quite special IMO. Hope you enjoy the heft of this 5236P. Your AD must have been pleased with your order for this piece instead of a Nautilus 😃

Beautiful watch.

Congrats on getting it, there is a slow in demand for sure and Mr Stern confirmed it in a recent interview. I love this watch, but with its price sitting way above a normal PP-PC and slightly less than PP-PCC I would rather save up and get me a 5270. Just...
