First off, I can only concur 100% that the early Toric case is magnificent, a work of art as you say.
I have a strong personal preference for white metal and between the two white metals here, platinum is my easy choice. Once you've experienced a platinum Toric, all other metals pale in comparison.
Having said that, rose gold would be number 2 for me. The grey dial and rose gold case is a luscious combination; very warm, indeed.
The Memory Time is Michel Parmigiani's first watch under the PF brand. I haven't made it a priority to add to my collection as it's a bit small for my wrist at 36mm. Still, it's a wonderfully refined watch.

I agree concerning the Cartier feel provided by the Cabochon.

I have been told by PF personnel that the records from the early years are "terrible" so not likely to know quantities with any degree of certainty.
Your guess of 100 - 200 seems reasonable but I'm just speculating.

I really love this case and I think these 36 mm would fit my wrist perfectly.

Those cases are splendid! For me the RG with the PT in close second. I love the soft warmth and the combination with the gray.

Here the yellow gold and platinum
are my choices. The yellow gold is such a classic, the color way seems from a George Daniels or Roger Smith, even though the case shape has no resemblance whatsoever. The platinum is cold but very distinct. If I had to choose it would be a very hard choic...
