Trying to read the market..
Amongst those paneristi in the know, i guess having a PR indicator matters. These are just the tip of the whole iceberg of those who wear pams.
The trouble is (and a sad thing too), for most guys out there who are merely into the brand because it looks "macho" or something along those lines, it won't bother them too much. Espcially if the price is right and seems like good value when compared to the 111 benchmark.

...if I recall, there is no PR indicator on the watch. Kind of strange in a manual-wound, 8-day watch, isn't it?

on this 8 day manual wind. I'm sure a future P.5000 movement variant will have a PR indicator though but it does makes sense to have this feature on the base movement itself. Maybe a PR indicator on the back. Cheers, Anthony
I would prefer a PR on the back....
since the watch already has an exhibition's caseback. I've always believed the PR on the dial, has a defacing effect on Panerais. IMO Ciaoo

Dont know why they would do that. Well they did with the 339 but got away with it because of the cool case. The P5001 will be like the P3001.

Panerai will see our comments and next year the 5000 calibre will have a PR on dial and other on the back, IMHO. A low demand for this model will help Panerai to implement this new serie. Just wait and see. Cheers, patrickh

I seriously doubt the p5000 steel model will be in low demand. For an 8 day power reserve watch, the list price is a mere , whilst the 111 with 40-48hr PR on an ETA-based calibre is already SGD7k+. There will be a long queue for this to buy the p5000 stee...
I had chosen a 190 for JLC movement and its
8 days power reserve on back. Will see if you are right regarding this new model and its WW success. Obviously, it is just not my taste ;-(( Regards, Patrickh
