You can set the Resonance either to have both dials read the same time or be different. The Resonance is certainly useful to display two time zones. With a quick pull of the crown at 4 o'clock you can synch the two second hands on both dials so that the two balances of the watch beat in harmony. This is the essence of the Resonance. Two independent balances that are in motion feeding off each others natural resonance.
Question about the Resonance
I went to a NYC AD and the salesman explained that the Resonance is set to one time zone on both dials and the actual time is the mid-point between the two....???? Last night I read on this site that it is set for two time zones and the two dials are syncronized by Resonance. Can someone explain?

All I can say for a fact is that the two dials can either be set to one time or can run independently of each other.
Funny description
The resonance has 2 dials and both can eb set independently of each other for 2 different time zones. In fact you can set any times you want, eg 3pm on the left dial and 8.37 on the other dial. Its totally up to you how you set it

I'm happy to hear the minute hands are not connected. Just incase if I wanted to go to India which is GMT + 4:30 with my home-time set at GMT - 8:00 (California, USA)
I always assumed they weren't connected because there are two crowns. I am assuming that one crown adjusts the time for the second time zone and the other adjusts the time for the first.

There are a lot more of these around than you might expect! Setting is as simple as possible, requiring no rare and expensive complication.
But the second independent dial face can be used as a kind of chrono!!
Set it to 12:00 and is will display the elapsed time for the next twelve hours. Or if you are, say, cooking a roast that takes forty minutes, set it to 11:20 and it will count down to twelve! I really like that idea.
Want to see how long the day is? Get up at sunrise and set it to 12:00 then wait until sunset. Or you happen to know how much daylight is available (for a trek) and want to make it back home in time before it gets dark, using the "countdown function".
With a pocket sundial you could even set it to mean or even true solar time for a particular day and avoid getting precooked - or even roasted - on the beach with the sun blazing overhead, when "normal" time tells you that it is already afternoon and safe in the sun.
Or just keep it set for the same time to experience the symmetry, like identical twins who react in the same way. Even there you have the choice of wearing the Resonance on the left or on the right wrist, with just enough from the cuff (discretely) exposed to be able read off the time - or set the dials anyway you prefer, according to left and right.
Anyone have more ideas? I think your question has already been answered: two independent watches in one, resonating with each other with the same accuracy, no matter what hours and minutes they happen to display.

I think the saleman is right
This watch can be considered as a combination of 2 independent twin movement which were born under a hight accurate adjustment (~same DNA). In it, there is a pinion to let them communicate to each other. Let think them as 2 swings in playground but they were connected by some way(the rack and pinion in the center of the movement). What watchmaker wanna do is make them beat in a same beat (it is the easiest way to achieve resonace), so same inertia and length of 2 swings are needed to be the same under gravity. Then watchmaker worked hard on the train design and finishing to make sure the same pushing force on these "swings".
If all are perfectly worked out in these mircoscopic "swings" on your wirst, then we do not need a resonace watch, Just because nothing can be perfect, what we are doing is getting closer to perfect. That's what a resonace watch try to beat the error (even twins can't be 100% identical). The beating difference come from a shock, a tiny dust which stick on one of the thousands tooths or simply the systematic error. So they may beat in different freqeuncy, and result in difference on the time of 2 dial. And the aim of this watch is to get the mean beat rate of 2 escapments by resonance, but not simply read the time by observing the mid point of 2 movt. But I think it is still meaningful to read the mid point which are really compensate the error happened on 2 movt. By some kind of source, this error tolerace is 5sec/day. And some user told they were not synchronising after certain time. Moreover, FP Journe put a second zero setting mechanism in this watch to let them synchronized again. Some watchmaker may considering to show us the mid time but not 2 times in future?
