These and the Vagabondage Trio would be some collection of Journe. The “unJournes” almost.
For me, the attraction of the original Ti CTS and the Vagabondage were exactly that. I wanted a few watches that did not represent the mainstream of Journe. Of course what was initially less than popular has become a little more appealing to the masses, eyes have been opened and tastes broadened. Plus a unhealthy dose of speculation and FOMO accelerated that interest.
FPJ is such a genius.
Even a sports watch he makes is so different from what’s been done. The function, the design, the feel. Just wish it was water resistant enough for a swim.

I still remember strapping this on for the first (and only) time….
I got the chance to try on the aluminium model in the NY boutique many years ago. I could not believe what my senses told me. I could see that I was wearing a watch but I could not feel it.
Typical Journe - no half measures. Everything was aluminium - including the movement. I have been in love with this particular version ever since.

A movement of Au. It was very provoking. Everyone said it felt too light. I personally loved it but struggled with the rubber bumpers. Especially on the bracelet. I’m still not sure if they are pretty but they are really cool.

The same experience. I wandered into hour glass and they randomly had an aluminum cts sitting there from owners collection for display (this is q3 2021 so well discontinued) . I tried it and my mind did a double take - I was totally blown away not only by the lightness but by how much I liked it given I always thought they were ugly (looking at the modern ceramic ones mostly admittedly). The comfort and fit was off the charts. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford the aluminium cts but I bought the titanium ars rubber bumpers a couple months later… had intended to buy the aquanaut 5164 to mark an occasion but changed direction, and unbelievably the ars was actually cheaper than the 5164 by 10k usd or so. Best decision ever! The aluminium cts remains a grail but probably never happening haha. I tell everyone there’s two big underpriced watches right now, a vintage grand seiko 44GS and a journe rubber octa sport
