In my dream Piaget thread earlier I'd said I wanted to see a hybrid of sorts between this watch and the steel Upstream!
Thanks for participating!

I know many folks who would agree with you.
Very nice of you to think of this piece for "your baby." She's a lucky gal!

The open dial gives it a more technical look that just draws me in! I think it's a great design from Piaget!

I recently discovered this one and I am compelled to learn more about it as well as trying it on!
I also appreciate the Altiplano (I even stated that in a previous Piaget favorite's thread), but the 45 Automatic I can really see my self wearing it on a daily basis and it fits right at home with my lifestyle.

Thanks for setting up this contest, Daos.

Alex
How about the open dial FortyFive chrono? That's a nice piece IMO!

Hi Daos,
thanks for this contest.

As a Piaget non-savant, this would be my choice.
I just like the 1930´s Art Deco touch of rectangular watches and particularly the dial symmetry and decoration. The jumping second adds some finesse to this watch.
As I am currently watching the "Jeeves and Wooster" series on DVD (highly recommendable if you like the British sense of humour), this watch just fits into this time and age
.

...does the best gem-setting in the business. The watches in the Limelight Secret line are always fun and fanciful!

I like the dial for the most part (with the exception of the date window), and the retrograde seconds is the crowning touch.

Less is more sometimes! The Altiplano is so beautiful! With the small seconds display there is just enough movement on the dial to intrigue.

Or, er, rather I third that (after you and Filip)!

I had borrowed the jeweled Altiplano Double Jeu from Piaget briefly, and I had the same feeling that the watch crossed all boundaries of gender and styling. The Piaget Polo is so iconic. It's a fantastic piece that evokes both elegance and sportiness.

Is the square shaped Emperador in rose gold with small seconds subdial and power reserve. This was one of the first Piaget's to catch my eye, and maybe its like the saying you never forget your first love. I've looked at other watches from Piaget and other brands, but I always come back to this watch. Its elegant and understated without being boring. The shape is an interesting variation of a rectangular shape. Its contoured sides look like they were designed spefically to be on a human wrist, mine specifically : )...not to mention Piaget makes a killer set of matching cufflinks that match the contoured shape of the watch case.
Some Piagets look to dressy to be worn with anything other than a suit for a formal occasion. The Emperador has style, but its not stuffy and it is versatile enough that I could wear it for any occasion.
In a world full of round watches and square watches, this watch stands out. It has its own distinctive shape, and thats something I admire about it. Its also nice because almost everyone wears or has a round watch. This is a watch you can wear without being one of the crowd. In its own understated way it helps you stand apart from the crowd. I think its a watch that is often overlooked in Piaget's collection, but this is my favorite Piaget.
Best regards,
Dino
...wonderful and eclectic taste! It was intriguing to read your thoughts about the Emperador. I always enjoy your posts!

You just love my contests! I like your choice! It's a bold and beautiful piece, befitting the city to which it pays tribute.

I think we all love watches for their exterior style and function; the aesthetics However, there are also some that we love simply for its beaufiul movement. And there are also some that we love for both the movement and exterior aesthetics.
1. A watch appreciated for its Exterior aesthetics...

3. A watch loved overall. This is also the favorite of another member. I apologize, but the hands of this watch and the enamel dial seduced me as well.

...and MTF's choice? Enamel with the Romans and unorthodox hour/minute hands make for an eye-popping combination!

I generally really enjoy dark colored dials. White metals with black/blue dials are quite possibly my favorite color palette on a watch. The thin proportions of the Altiplano coupled with the expansive dial create a watch with great visual presence.

If I could afford it but if not, its the Altiplano duo of the boutique edition Squelette Altiplano or the RG silver dial Altiplano.
I love the use of the skyscraper motif on the dial. I think Piaget makes very unexpected and romantic watches. This one perfectly captures the boldness and architectural beauty of NYC.
