And this was the closest I could get to it at short notice. It’s a Philly smash burger, with smash patties instead of the steak but thoroughly tasty irrespective. Given that our neighboring countries have a long tradition of superb mince patty preparation, it’s no surprise that gourmet burgers are making a ln appearance 🍔

Absolutely.
Quite a successful one had a place in the county town. Opened after COVID interestingly, had a couple of good years and now gone. Need to visit the bright lights of the big cities a bit more lol. 😂

Definitely a good question! The culinary scene has hardly developed here for decades and then in the last 10 or so years the range has spread massively. Albeit, getting high quality and semi authentic Chinese or Subcontinent food is still far, far away 🤷🏻♂️ Lots of offering in the cheap and cheerful and adapted to local taste segment but nothing of the nicer, tastier stuff 🤷🏻♂️
I hear you, the problem is the supply chain can't replicate the depth and nuances of flavor of the cuisine the further you go from its terroir of Origin, I never had Good Pakistani food abroad, sorry to say they are below average or at best average.....
I agree with you that they conform the taste to the market they are serving and sometimes the staff is not from the origin of that cuisine, the Majority of Indian Restaurant owners in NYC are from Bangladesh, so they are cooking Indian dishes from a Bangladeshi lense for an American audience. The end product's flavor profile becomes its own unique creation far away from it says on the outside window.
Having said that, what's coming down the pipeline, my crystal ball says in fast food, we have had burgers, doners and shawermas go global, the Paratha Roll has a chance to do the same, let's see 😊👍

Have you tried Pakistani in London? Some of the outfits there were thoroughly tasty to me and I had my Pakistani friends comment on them very favorably, too?

Yes, many times, when you're hungry anything tastes good 🤣, however they were average, not because of anything in their control, just don't have the same ingredients, the water, the depth of flavor, French cuisine in Tokyo is beautiful elegant but....
