Blancpain and Hublot. He also did not have a shabby tenure at Omega either. Here is a pic from his Blancpain days. Thinner and more hair, but the eyes & forward vision always the same.
For sure a very controversial figure in watch industry but also a fundamental person, who was able to bring several brands back to glory and the main protagonist of Hublot's success.
I criticised it many times but I think that every watch enthusiast should be grateful to him.
a brilliant, inventive, resourceful, creative, sympathetic, kind and enigmatic character. So a happy 68th birthday to this great man

He was always appreciated where he worked. He has given the power for Blancpain to be something much higer end than they were before by integrating them with the frederic piguet brand of movements. Even if Blancpain uses Frederic Piguet movements , it doesn't make of it a manufacture because a manufacture builds their own movements from scratch and doesn't rely on a third party to supply them movements. His willingness of implementing only mechanical movements in the whole Blancpain range , helped the brand to be in the top of the prestige brand ladder of the Swatch group. However he really turned Hublot into something special and true manufacture as well and he strives and tries to do the same with Tag Heuer. All the best to this great man Best regards Georges
