Rolex

I have decided to get the Yachmaster 1 over the Yachmaster II and now deciding which color.  Love the blue but the more I consider the more I am torn between the two color comibinations.  Anybody own both or had the same decision as to which one to get and why you chose one over the other.  Thanks.

Last year I fell in love with the Y-M I after many years of not giving it the attention it deserves. I had always been very attracted by the silver dial, with its beautiful grained surface, and the low key view it offers, which blends perfectly with the brushed and polished surfaces of its case and bezel. The red markings and the red seconds hand also make for an striking view against the silver dial.

I was offered the new blue version too, and I find this color gorgeous, but I guess it is just a matter of personal tastes. I personally choose the silver version.

My best suggestion for you, is ti visit an AD having in stock both versions and try on your wrist. You should view how you feel and how you personally like each of them. Don´t let others tastes influence yours!

BUT the blue gave me the idea to think about getting the two versions. Both are very different, which makes the choice to get both very consistent.

You can't go wrong with any of them, but if only one, then the grey. Why? Because it is so Yachtmaster!

The  blue is cool, tempting, but there were other blue dialed rolexes. Not grained grey!

You guys may have changed my mind on this decision.  I was leaning toward the blue but your photos and ideas about the singularity of the grained grey dial is appealing to me.  I have the black and blue gmt II and some other blue oriented dials and have always favored blue but the idea of somehing very different in the grained grey dial only found on the yachmaster 1 is definietely appealing.  I will go to the AD and try them both on and see which one speaks to me the most at that time.

but let's be fair to the Blue.

...I already owned the grey YM but bought the blue because of the dial.  However, I will probably sell it sometime and keep the grey, although I had intended it to be the other way round.  On the wrist I decided the shade of blue was not quite right - too dark.  It contrasts too much with the silver/grey bezel and, to my mind, looks a bit garish, a bit like a cheaper fashion watch. 

i'e been trying to decide myself, between grey or blue, but now i find myself looking at the yellow gold/stainless with white dial and black markers as well....it's getting any easier...
