After going back and forth on whether I wanted this watch or not, I took the plunge and bought the new Deep Sea - Seadweller and couldn't be happier. My father always had a Rolex, but it looked like a ladies watch on my wrist. With this watch, I need to start looking for shirts with larger cuffs. This is my first major watch purchase, and I hope it is only the beginning of a life long watch hobby. I am not the best at describing what I feel, but I can assure you my grin is ear to ear whenever I put it on. I am sorry about the picture, but its from my iphone. In the near term I hope to load better pictures. It seems like horology and photography go hand and hand here.
Glad to hear of your new purchase. You will find that this site will be a great resource for information and to also share your experiences with the rest of us. Congrats! -MW
That's how it starts...with your first purchase. Then, reading, learning and seeing things from this forum ~ ahhhhh, the voices! The voices! You will hear them in your head! They will start to speak to you! The disease will overtake you of which, there is no cure!
But really, Congratulations on your new acquisition.
What a feeling, buying that first real watch - ROLEX!!! I know how you feel, and to make that decision.
I bought my first real watch, an Explorer (114270) the monday (Oct 27, 2008) after Penn State beat Ohio State. My decision was if PSU beat OSU, I would buy the Rolex. No kidding!!! Good thing I did not base it on PSU winning the National Championship, PSU lost to IOWA in the next game and woulda sorta dashed those hopes.
But now, in a downward spiraling economy, and no hope for civilization,I smile from ear to ear, like you and the others, every time I
PUT THAT EXPLORER ON MY WRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
