I recently pressed a rep at a local AD to explain, given they had watches in the display and window cases, why are all marked "Exhibition" That is, if there is a watch

sitting in the case, why can't someone purchase it? After going through all the jibber jabber about wait lists, the covid impact on consumer spending, and how it takes 18 months to make a Rolex, she eventually anwered the question of why can't I purchase a watch from the case sitting in front of me...................... she said the exhibition watches in the display cases are not finished product. Specifically they are lacking proper movements, and can therefore not be sold.
