Nothing more Rolex than everyone hyping this watch as the Steve McQueen watch when he didn't even wear it!
They should’ve just reissued this one. It’s the perfect explorer 2. Could easily steal some of the thunder from the gmt and the sub.

Seriously this watch is available without selling a kidney with a Nautilus or PN one would need to sell both. It’s a No brainer.
Luckily the ones with no brains still don’t see them.
Lovely early example Bill. I love mine not because it’s the rarest or best example but because it came originally in 1981 from a few Miles up the road from where I live and the old chap that sold it was the original owner and kept everything.
Mine says hi Bill to your grandfather version.
