Right! To me, Rolex is about an Oyster case with a simple dial
By: India Whiskey Charlie : March 23rd, 2020-15:03
That's how I grew up to recognize them.

The white is great too
By: VinnieD : March 25th, 2020-03:42
The specific shade of white is unique in my opinion and goes very well with a summer background!

Looking at the classy design Datejust, it seems that the designers of the "recent" sporty Rolex work in another company :-| [nt]

That was my closest alternative
By: VinnieD : March 25th, 2020-03:43
I just found the OP to be a little more dressy and liked the steel crown on the dial too.
A little detail is also the shape of the bezel: flat for the Explo and convex for the OP.

Well done - funny how dial colour seems to influence perceived size

If the opportunity avails itself I would get the black and the blue dial to complete the set. IMO the purest Rolex out there. [nt]

The origin of Rolex
By: TomKxx : March 26th, 2020-20:45
Since 1926, OP was created and offsprings like Datejust, Submariner and Explorer were created.
The pure and quintessential of Rolex which many have been swayed because of hype towards steel sports watches.

Your lume seems much stronger and more blue than mine (green and quite weak)
By: VinnieD : March 27th, 2020-08:05
I got my black one early (probably one of the first ones in my country), back in 2018.
Could Rolex have changed the lume material since then?

Mine is 114300 OP39 (bought it in Feb this year). Yes, now that you mentioned it. The line of OP should more greenish than blueish hue.
By: TomKxx : March 28th, 2020-17:33
The difference of lume colour between my OP and Sub is quite obvious.

Thanks for the comparison! It makes it clear
By: VinnieD : March 30th, 2020-02:38
The lume strength and "endurance" is the only minor gripe I have about the OP - it is on the weak side
