A fresh picture of the Datejust 41mm rhodium dial of my brother

a cool piece. He prefers this version because ge thinks that it looks more contemporary than the fluted bezel-jubilee bracelet one. I don’t know if you agree.

Fx

Yep, I agree👍🏻

Although when I look closer into the world of the Datejust and all the variations available, I can find a few others very appealing as well.

Agreed. [nt]

My preference is the smooth bezel with the oyster bracelet on the datejust. [nt]

I prefer the classic look for a DJ.

Fluted/jubilee. I get a sense of nostalgia - as a young boy I remember seeing these on the wrist of my grandfather and uncles.
I view it as my modern, vintage inspired Rolex. The current jubilee bracelet offers supreme construction, comfort and usability.

cheers

I can also agree with it 😉 [nt]

I totally agree with him. The fluted bezel really bugs me. [nt]

Now even the steel Datejust 41 is sold out at many Rolex ADs. [nt]

Yes... but the chance to get one increases in smaller towns, it is what I saw here in France or in Spain [nt]

If I were to buy a DJ today..

It would be this style. However, my first luxury watch was a DJ given to me almost 20 years ago from my wife when I graduated biz school. This watch is a classic and will always get wrist time. 36mm (I don’t think there was even a 40+mm option back then).

But again, today, smooth bevel oyster bracelet would be my preference.

Cheers
