Intro to the forum...

hi all,

First time posting on the Rolex forum although I have been a member for many years. I usually try and keep lowkey but do post on the JLC and Patek forums from time to time.

Anyways, I am part of a chat group of passion watch collectors of whom several are part of Purists as well. I was encouraged to post here on the Rolex forum to share a bit more so here I am.

Have been a Rolex fan for many years. A bit of love and hate to be honest but there is no denying the significance Rolex has had on watch collecting and the history of sports watches in general. I have accumulated many over the years but have tried to keep it in control LOL. The ones I tend to wear the most are more modern such as a Daytona ceramic, Pepsi, or Skydweller but I do have a dozen 6263/6265 and a handful of 6239/6241 as well which remain in the bank safe most of the time. Pity, I know but what can you do.

I was thinking about moving a few of them as I would like to get into several rare vintage Omega Speedmasters such as a 2915, 2998-1 lollipop, vintage Ultraman, etc...We will see what happens smile

Anyways, I took a group shot when I was at the bank to retrieve 8 of the watches. Still need to decide what I will do but that is another story.

Of the 8, there are 4 that I like more which are below.

If you made it this far, thanks in reading smile

Chapeau, my friend...

You have a nice collection of vintage Daytonas.
One doesn’t see them often and as a matter of fact that
many never at the same time.

Thank you Jari :-) [nt]

Don't worry Nico, I have plenty and most are not going anywhere for now...

I am after several vintage Speedmasters so let's see what happens there first.
I still have a handful of modern Daytonas as well which get worn much more than these safe queens, unfortunately.

Yes, you should give them some wrist time, mon ami. Just to enjoy them as they deserve. As for the Vintage Speedies, good luck! [nt]

love that Ultraman. I have the re-edition and am trying to find an original in great shape. It seems your Ultraman is in excellent shape so if you ever want to sell or trade it, please let me know 😉

really cool watch Tony. Hopefully I will be able to get one just like it in the near future. Contacted the Davidoff brothers in Geneva since it seems they have one and was planning a trip to see it but saw that it was reserved on their website today.

Guess I will have to be patient and wait for the right one as always.

Great watch you have there Tony. If you do decide to move it on, please let me know 👍

Excellent, Tony! [nt]
