Rolex GMT MASTER 1675 Gilt Underline Chapter Ring Pointed Crownguards.
From 1960.
The kind of stuff which drives me crazy... Not only because of the condition of the watch, but also for this small detail, the underlined " officially certified ".
The kind of detail we find on 1675 from 1960 and 1963.
Something I miss in my GMT MASTER collection.

The Rolex 1675 Gilt Chapter Underline is a selection for a GMT collector.
You will notice the Rolex Coronet and position of the L in both watches is the same.
This is the stuff, wishes & pleasure are made of !.. Indeed, an absolute great example.. Although I have several 1675s, I realized
.. there is almost no end to desires & hunting..
Simply love these types of GMT 1675s !

Beautiful watch!
When I see watches like this I always wonder why it is that Rolex decides to make very small, subtle changes to their dials as in this instance with the small underline. Like most people I can instantly recognise a GMT Master but until you or the other experts bring it to my attention I am unaware of these differences. I can understand that although the fundamental look of the watch remains the same over decades, cases are altered, the hands can change and movements changed or improved but the thinking behind tiny changes to the wording or font escapes me. Having said that, of course, It's great for collectors. Regards Kev

Pretty sure I will dip my toes in at some point, maybe with a 1016 or 1675 (but baby versions not gilt or any other crazy stuff!)
But I'm also not sure I'm the type of person who can wear vintage pieces freely - let's see
They are not that complicated to wear. Yes, you can start with a matte dial, and yes, 1016 and 1675 are great references! [nt]

A nice 1675 or 1655 would compliment my BLNR or Air King well I think though.
