Your Sea Dweller is a keeper in my book, Fernando...
It has everything I would want in a sports watch.
It´s a shame that Rolex chose to discontinue it, but at the same time I am relieved they changed the model completely and not just put a red stamp on this one and call it an Anniversary Model....
Looking ahead though, this move makes me wonder if Rolex is planning on giving the Submariner a face lift with a slimmer case, and as such, they needed to make way for that change without splicing it to the SD.

Yes, I much prefer the look and size of this one.
Perhaps it was too similar to the sub and for most the premium wasn't justified. So they gave it a shot of growth hormone to differentiate the two but now it encroaches on the Deepsea territory.

I would not opt for the new SD
At 43mm it is just too big and heavy for everyday wear. Too bad they did not do both going forward.

A very, vey nice SD that I liked also a lot.
But with the new one: I am thinking to like it and will try a Deep Sea on first. I know that the Deep Sea looks good on others (on a picture with David Beckham, for instance).
In other words: I am betting against the market !

First time trying it on and the 43 mm are still looking good on my wrist. The thickness of the DS is certainly not my cup of tea, but I find the DS also good looking on others wrist's.

I did not really pay much attention to this reference until it was discontinued. But it has a lot going for it.

Lugs more tapered than the Sub. Maybe nicer fit on wrist than the Sub.

Short production only 2-3 years, and not so many sold during this time compared to other models

this one also comes with all-brushed finish bracelet, no polished center links, which is a nice plus.
