My baby is back from the spa.....
My dealer has treated my GMT to a trip to the Rolex spa.
They have done an amazing job....it looks like new.

I have never done official Rolex refresh as i am only vintage.

This little baby is just over 12 years old and never been serviced 
It was my second Rolex and has had quite the traumatic life so I have always felt it needed this to put all the memories in the past......when I picked it up the shop assistant scratched the strap sizing it, she has since gone and is the reason I only let my dealer Steven size anything for me, he is superb. They had their in house watch guy re-finish the strap which was appaling and felt like sandpaper so in the end they replaced the strap. During a bezel change (I originally bought her on a black bezel) the lugs were scratched to s**t and at somepoint the rotation of the bezel had a fault but I wasn't about to take it anywhere incase more damage occured.
So as you can imagine I was very nervous sending it in for a full service even though I had only ever heard good things about it.......and I have to say they have done a PHENOMINAL job and if anybody can pass my thanks back to the Rolex service team then please do.
The watch is literally better than new and I truly feel I have finally done her justice for the pleasure she has given me.....any lady appreciates a full spa, yes..?

Guessing no dial or hands work.
Did they change the tube and crown.
Factory service card is issued 1 or 2 year gurantee.
Do they guarantee water proof.
A lot of questions but we can learn what one can expect.
It looks like a new watch congrats.

The service is covered in detail on their website and it comes back with a booklet outlining what was done....

The crystal and crown may be replaced as part of the service but I don't know for sure. But full movement service, case and bracelet refinish back to as new and a full 2 year guarantee. It took 7 weeks and although it didn't cost me anything it would have easily have been worth the cost which I believe is around the £500 mark. Andy.

I don't have a Rolex that is not vintage so no chance for me.
It was just nice to hear the details of a fresh full service.
For a vintage watch replacing certain parts can kill the value of a watch an advange a more modern vintage does not suffer from.
But Rolex does not have parts for tue old boys except at their restoration division in Geneva restorations run in the many thousands if not 10-12k but i have never had any first hand experience with them.
All us vintage guys do is find sympathetic Rolex watch experts of which i only know two of in the states where you get little surprises and few horror stories.

Unfortunately although she looks pheminal....
she will have to go back as the date change occurs at midday and not midnight..!! A little dissapointing QC didn't notice this and now I risk scratches in sending it back. So dissapointed

Heeey, my friend. Sorry for the silly question, but...
The GMT MASTER is a 24 hours watch. Did you do the correct settings?
If the date changes at Miday, give the hour hand another 12 hours turn, and see what happens...
