Regarding the PAM 372,....I see many for sale out there ?
Are there any problems I should be aware of ?
Thank you all !
Thanks,..No Intention to flip, if I get it soon !
It is selling at retail too .
in the Historic collection, so the availability of the PAM372 will be extremely easy to get in the future after the initial demand is over. The PAM372 isn't a special edition piece which has limited supply. It's not the next PAM127 and never was going to be that way IMO.
I don't know when Panerai will discontinue the PAM372, if ever in the future, but as time goes by, it won't be difficult to buy one. Maybe it won't be as easy to get like a PAM111, but it won't be unattainable if you take the time to sit down and call every authorized dealer on Panerai's website one by one.
Who knows, maybe Panerai will discontinue it after 3 years. If they do, I'd expect another version to come out such as a PAM372 without the ecru vintage luminova and with regular white luminova.

as it's not a Special Edition piece. If Panerai keeps making more of them after the 3500 pieces, I would not be surprised at all. Many times Panerai produces a lot more than originally advertised (probably due to overwhelming demand), such as the Special Edition PAM29 re-issue which was boosted from 500 pieces to 1000 pieces!

Anthony, I agree they do increase the production if the demand is high. The 29 is an example and so is the 341, 339, ...
BUT THESE WERE ALL LIMITED EDITIONS
Give me one good reason why a regular production should increase ? It makes no sense unless you''ll make it only in 1 run. If the 3000 was not enough, who cares ... the next run will be +500
So increasing the number with a regular production .... strange ...
why has the 372 a plexi and the 422 and the one with power reserve on th dial (can't remember the reference) a spahire ? Same reason as why the 448 and 449 have plexi and the 424 and 425 have spahire ?
I woulnd not be surprised ith the 372 would be discontinued after these 3500 pce
technically it is classified as a regular production piece, not a special edition. Panerai did say they were going to make around 3500 pieces in this run. So people are on the assumption that only 3500 pieces in totality are going to be made. However, I would not be surprised if Panerai decides to make a 2nd run, 3rd run, etc because it is a "regular production" piece, not a limited edition. That is what I meant about boosting production for a regular production piece.
Why do the PAM372, PAM448, PAM499, etc. have plexi glass instead of sapphire? It's probably because Panerai seems to like using plexi on the limited edition pieces. Why? Probably because the vintage pieces used plexi, so they probably want to try to keep the watches as close to the original vintage pieces. That's why the PAM398 and PAM399 have plexi instead of sapphire too.

Anthony
