NYC Panerai Event

Thanks to PuristS, I was able to attend the gathering at the NYC OP Boutique last night.  The drive up from South Jersey was relatively fast, and the weather cooperated.  I got to town a bit early so took a few pics of my favorite city.




There are always interesting things to photograph in New York, as in many other cities.  It just seems like the variety is endless here.


The hour had come to greet others at the Boutique, and it was great to be able to try on the latest pieces.



This is the one that really caught my eye when announced, and it didn't disappoint me:






While most people seem to covet the 372, it didn't strike me the same way when I first saw it.  Impressive for sure, but it just didn't seem THAT unique.  On the wrist though, it's perfect.  Its modified 1950 case hugs the wrist, sits lower, and the plexi allows full view without distortion of the dial.  It's a wonderful watch.

Dinner was great.  We got a chance to talk with representatives of Panerai, including the wonderful staff of the Boutique and the president of Panerai North America.  Mr. Alvarez is truly passionate about the brand.  His explanation of the Equation of Time on his wrist was amazing.  Panerai is fortunate to have such a young, energetic leader.  


Check out his watch--Holy Serious Metal, Batman!  It can be yours, custom-made for the price of a Ferrari--and well worth it for those with the means.  The "rotisserie" tourbillion is like none I've seen--spectacular!



I met some great people and was fortunate to be able to see and hold their amazing watches:






Dinner was excellent--


Too big?  This thing just WORKS!

I can't say I was looking forward to the ride home, but I'm so glad I went to this event.  Meeting Anthony, Danny, Jordi, Sharif, David, Dan, Jose, Anthony, Josh and others made the event special.  I can't thank Panerai and the staff of the Boutique enough for hosting us.  I hope to have a chance to see you again this time next year.

As for the 372, it is a hit, really the nicest Panerai ever made, conform to the History of the brand ( at the exception of the movement, which looks like an Angelus when it should look like a Rolex Cortebert ) but this detail shouldn't be a NO GO to jump on this watch.

 WOW. Made me Dream a lot about these 2 Novelties.  LOVE the 372 and 382 . even tho i haven't seen them in the Flesh yet but i'm Sure they won't disappoint me either.

Very insightful and great photos too.

Love the Bronzo and that Corum looks very interesting too.

Can’t seem to be on-board with the 372 love...there are just too many things on it that I wished were different.

Thank god someone has pictures of the watches because I hardly have any

(but I do have pictures and videos of the SIHH 2011 collection from the past Beverly Hills Press event earlier in the year during March '11:  panerai.watchprosite.com )

We had lots of new faces at this NYC Panerai event, and I'm glad many learned about the brand and are eyeing specific pieces for their 1st Panerai!

Panerai did a first class job here!!!! I took a bunch of watch photos as it started to get dark so I had a real hard time with the lighting. The pictures below are the ones that came out the best, I hope you enjoy them!
