a bit more information about yourself, such as what you have in your collection, your lifestyle etc etc...
In the meantime, consider this:
Similarities:
-sports watches
-made w/ relatively scratch proof ceramic
-come from a very well respected manufacturer
-good after sales service
Differences:
-One is significantly more complicated, being split second chronograph
-I also suspect Top Gun is probably made in higher annual quantity than 292, although not by much.
-Styling: One is a pilot watch while the other being a diver's watch (although not necessarily in today's standard!)
-Pricings
292 is much cleaner and easier to mix and match straps. While 3799 is a chrono , full house, But my choice, i will go for 3799 as its a auto, 46mm (ceremic case tends to look smaller since 292 is 45mm).
of the 2 watches mentioned, I'd get the IWC Top Gun then. The PAM292 really isn't a sports watch IMO.
If you want to get a "sporty" Panerai, then I'd highly suggest the PAM305 Submersible or even a simple PAM111 Luminor Marina. Any of these would fit great into your current collection IMO.
Cheers,
Anthony
