I believe this is true, but can someone confirm. The 190 uses a JLC movement. That is also true for the 198. What movement is used in the PAM 201? Any views on this latter PAM? What other references used JLC movements. WHat is used in teh 274?
Sorry...quite a few questions there.
Thanks
has an inhouse movement, the calibre P.2002
(but I'm not sure they are 100% inhouse afaik these movements are made by Soprod but they will only be used for Panerai. Please correct me if I'm wrong)
Others were Zenith (Elite and El Primero) , GP, dubois depraz, and ofcourse a zillion ETA/Valjoux
Pam 190, 197, 198, and 208.
All 4 are the same Radiomir, using the same 8 Days JLC movement, and the only differences are about the metal ( SS for 190, Platinum for 198 and 208, and RG for 197 ), or the dial ( Brown for the 198 / 208, but hobnail for the 208 ).
Best,
Nicolas
what about views on the 201?
Not you Nico.
...what could i say on the 201?
Even better. Just out of my price range.
I like very much the in-house GMT of the 233 and the 270, and I believe in a 45mm Rad they look superb.
I saw recently the new 323, Rad in 47mm, and it looks good too...but 47mm is just too much for me.
If you want a 45mm Rad with the in-house GMT you are down to precious metals...yellow or white gold or, if you can afford it, platinum. White gold for me please!
Actually, all of these models are now very reasonably priced (IMHO) in the grey market. I am actually very close to getting a very fair deal on a 200. Will let you know if I get it.
I just hope Panerai does not bring out a stainless steel 45mm Rad GMT next year. It would be classical!!
This link provides information on the VF facility. My own understanding is that while Panerai manufacturers their own in-house movement, this work is completed within the VF complex which is shared with the other Richemont brands.
